Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Coastal Labs Studio LLC ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), a California limited liability company, concerning your use of the MedCode mobile application (the "App") and related services.
By downloading, installing, or using MedCode, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Critical Medical Disclaimer
MEDCODE IS A CLINICAL REFERENCE AND TIMING TOOL ONLY. IT IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE AND IS NOT INTENDED TO REPLACE CLINICAL JUDGMENT, PROFESSIONAL TRAINING, OR ESTABLISHED RESUSCITATION PROTOCOLS.
MedCode does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. All clinical decisions during a resuscitation event must be made by qualified, licensed healthcare professionals in accordance with applicable protocols (e.g., ACLS, PALS, BLS) and their own clinical judgment.
DO NOT rely solely on MedCode during an emergency. Always follow your institution's protocols and the guidance of the team leader. Technical failures, software errors, or user error may cause inaccurate timing or missed alerts. The App is provided as a supplemental aid only.
Coastal Labs Studio LLC expressly disclaims any liability for adverse patient outcomes, clinical errors, or harm of any kind arising from the use or misuse of this App.

Data and Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Our data practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
MedCode does not require account creation and does not collect personally identifiable information. Event log data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

We strive to maintain a high-quality App experience, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or availability. We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue features with or without notice
- Release App updates that may change functionality
- Discontinue the App at our discretion
Because MedCode functions locally on your device, your purchased access will remain functional even if we cease offering new downloads or updates, subject to iOS compatibility.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your license to use MedCode if you violate these Terms or engage in prohibited activities. Upon termination, your right to use MedCode ceases immediately. No refunds will be issued for terminations resulting from violations of these Terms.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will:
- Post the updated Terms on our website
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Provide in-app notifications for material changes where feasible
- Give you reasonable time to review changes before they take effect
Continued use of MedCode after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
Apple App Store Terms
If you obtained MedCode through the Apple App Store, you acknowledge and agree that:

- Your use of the App must comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and any usage rules established by Apple.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any) for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
